    45° OBLIQUE PAVING STRUCTURE
    Diagonal Keel System

Engineered diagonal solid wood double keel | Superior load distribution & unique aesthetic flow
    Diagonal Layered Construction
The 45° oblique paving structure combines a solid wood double keel with a diagonal orientation. This unique configuration improves multi-directional load transfer, reduces joint stress, and creates a stunning visual effect when the flooring is laid at 45 degrees.

The entire substructure is laid at a 45° angle relative to walls. This oblique orientation distributes dynamic loads across two axes, reduces long-term deformation, and offers a distinctive herringbone-like aesthetic when paired with solid wood flooring.

    Diagonal Engineering

45° oblique keel placement for optimized stress dissipation

    45° Oblique Keel Layout

Both solid wood keels are positioned diagonally (45° to the main walls). This orientation evenly distributes vertical and lateral forces, significantly reducing point-load stress and minimizing the risk of squeaking or warping over time.

    Solid Wood Double Keel

Two independent solid timber layers (kiln-dried oak/ash) create a robust floating substructure. The lower keel contacts the rubber cushion; the upper keel supports the solid wood board. This double-layer design adds exceptional rigidity.

    Shock Absorbing Rubber Cushion

5mm closed-cell EPDM placed beneath the lower keel. Absorbs impact, reduces footstep noise, and contributes to ≥53% shock absorption — meeting EN 14904 sports flooring standards.

    Performance Metrics

Shock absorption ≥53% · Ball rebound ≥90% · Sliding friction 0.4–0.6 · Service life 10+ years. Ideal for luxury residences, dance floors, and design-led commercial spaces.

    Distinctive Visual Flow

When the top solid wood floor is also laid at 45°, the result is a stunning diamond pattern that adds depth and elegance — perfect for contemporary interiors.

    Why Choose 45° Oblique Paving?

    Structural intelligence meets visual artistry

    Multi-Directional Load Transfer

Oblique keels spread forces across two axes, reducing stress on any single joint. Ideal for heavy foot traffic and dynamic loads (dance, gym).

    Reduced Structural Creep

45° orientation minimizes long-term deformation and gap formation. The double keel + rubber system ensures silent, stable performance for decades.

    Design Flexibility

Allows flooring to be installed in a diagonal pattern, creating a spacious feel and unique visual rhythm. Complements modern, Scandinavian, and luxury design languages.

    Durable & Maintainable

Solid wood components can be sanded and refinished. The oblique substructure reduces moisture-related movement, extending overall floor life beyond 15 years.
